The International Organization for Septuagint and Cognate Studies (IOSCS) has orginized in July 29th – 31st its 14th congress at the University of Helsinky. The congress has opened prof. L. Greenspoon with his lecture “The 72” in the “Naught Decade”: Septuagint Studies, 2000–2009. The closing point of the congress was a panel discussion with the speakers A. Aejmelaeus, J. Aitken, K. De Troyer and A. van der Kooij about the origins of LXX. Congress of IOSOT 1st–6th August, 2010
The International Organization for the Study of the Old Testament (IOSOT) is happy to celebrate its 60th anniversary and its 20th meeting at the University of Helsinki, Faculty of Theology, 1–6 August 2010. The congresses of IOSOT are organized every three years and one of the important outputs is the Publication of some of the papers in the Series Vetus Testamentum, Supplements (VTS). Scholars from all over the world are invited to attend the lectures, participate in the discussions, and give papers. Besides IOSOT there are also other associated specialized congresses in Helsinki, 29 July – 6 August 2010.Medzinárodná organizácia pre štúdium Starého zákona – The International Organization for the Study of the Old Testament (IOSOT) – slávi už svoje 60. výročie vzniku a usporadúva v poradí už 20. kongres IOSOT tejto spoločnosti. Kongres sa bude konať na Teologickej fakulte Univerzity v Helsinkách v dňoch 1.-6. augusta 2010. IOSOT organizuje kongres každé tri roky a jedným z dôležitých výstupov tohto podujatia sú vedecké zborníky, publikované vydavateľstvom Brill v edícii Vetus Testamentum, Supplements (VTS). Faculty of Theology of Catholic University of Leuven sponsored 59th Colloquium Biblicum Lovaniense. The Colloquium with its theme The book of Joshua and the land of Israel took place from 26th till 28th of July 2010. President Ed Noort, professor from University of Groningen, opened the Coloquium with his paper Josua im Wandel. Zu Stand und Perspektiven der Forschung am Buch Josua.Teologická fakulta Katolíckej univerzity v Lueven (Belgicko) zorganizovala v dňoch 26.-28. júla 2010 59. ročník biblických dňov Colloquium Biblicum Lovaniense s názvom Kniha Jozue a zem Izraela. Biblickú konferenciu otvoril jej predseda prof. Ed Noort.
